SUMMARY:The art of conducting from the piano
DESCRIPTION:The great 20th-century musician Géza Anda was not only an exceptional pianist\, but an equally skilled conductor of his own interpretations of the major piano concertos from the First Viennese School.\nThe art\, and above all the craft of directing these masterpieces from the keyboard in the tradition of the Maestro al Cembalo is the theme of the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester’s project in September 2022 in cooperation with the Zurich Géza Anda Foundation. Under the guidance of internationally renowned pianist and conductor Mikhail Pletnev\, four young master pianists invited by the Géza Anda Foundation will be introduced to the art of conducting from the piano. \nThis ten day course includes a masterclass followed by rehearsals with orchestra of a piano concerto chosen by the participants\, and will be made available to a wide audience both live and via video stream.
