The summer night concert at the end of the season promises an evening of the most beautiful classics of opera literature in a magical setting. The soloists of the opera ensemble, the members of the newly founded opera studio, the opera choir and the extra choir as well as the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra invite you to an open-air concert.
The musical journey takes you from Italian bel canto to French opéra-comique and on through various countries to the Orient. From Camille Saint-Saëns’ fiery, dance-like Bacchanal from “Samson et Dalila” to Tchaikovsky’s fairytale-like “Dance of the Four Little Swans” from “Swan Lake”, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra has all facets of sound in store for you. The eccentric fire chorus from Verdi’s “Otello” or the touching “Coro a bocca chiusa” from Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” can be heard as well as the famous Queen of the Night’s revenge aria or Carmen’s “Habanera”. Dreamy arias such as Offenbach’s “Barcarole” will seduce you into a romantic summer night.
Let yourself be enchanted, learn one or two anecdotes and enjoy a special kind of relaxed opera evening in an open-air setting.
From June 13, 2025 on the Theaterplatz of the Lucerne Theatre.
