It may be that the composer came from a Jewish family, or their music was influenced by Jewish traditions such as Klezmer music. Some of the works are well-known, such as the five-part suite &#8220;The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind&#8221;, which gained its Argentinean composer Osvaldo Golijov an international reputation. There is also music by Dave Tarras, originally from the Ukraine, revered in the USA as a clarinettist and bandleader, and hailed as &#8220;The Benny Goodman of Klezmer&#8221;.
