Biography

Christa Zahner has been a violinist in the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester since 1988, and was a member of the orchestra committee for nine years.

Christa Zahner was born in Kreuzlingen in 1959 where she attended school and teacher training college. After a year of teaching at various primary schools, she began her violin studies with Abraham Comfort in Winterthur in 1981 and graduated with a Teaching Diploma in 1984.

From 1985 to 1987 she studied with Hansheinz Schneeberger in Basel and then with Wolfgang Hock in Gernsbach, Germany until 1988.

From 1984 to 1988 Christa Zahner played as a substitute in the Musikkollegium Winterthur, taught at various music schools and performed in various chamber music ensembles. She has been a violinist in the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester since 1988, and for nine years was a member of the orchestra committee.
