The choir of the University of Lucerne was founded in 2004. Its diverse repertoire ranges from pop and film music to jazz, classical choral works and operas. The works and concert programs performed include the 2nd Symphony “Lobgesang” by Felix Mendelssohn, “Sacred Concert” by Duke Ellington, “An Irish Blessing – Irish choral music for choir and strings”, “Disney Melodies”, “Jolidulidu” by Stephan Hodel, the “Requiem” by Giuseppe Verdi and by John Rutter, the peace mass “The Armed Man” by Karl Jenkins, works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Die schönsten Opernchöre”, “The Music Makers” by Edward Elgar and the “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi. In addition to smaller and larger performances in the Lucerne area – including at the KKL Lucerne – the choir has also made guest appearances at the Tonhalle Zurich, the Theater Winterthur and the Kultur Casino Bern. Luzia Vogelsang has been the musical director of the university choir since 2025.
