Dario Giuliano
Dario Giuliano was born in Palermo in 1994 and grew up in a family of musicians. He began his studies as a violinist and then continued in the viola class of Maestro Renato D’Anna at the Conservatorio Scarlatti in Palermo, where he graduated with top marks.
He then completed his Master of Arts at the Basel University of Music in the class of Silvia Simionescu, whose influence brought him ever closer to chamber music, which he later deepened with renowned masters such as Claudio Martinez, Feltz Eberhard and Rainer Schmidt.
Between 2021 and 2022, he frequently performed in various trio and quartet formations and won several international prizes, including the Gold Prize at the World Classical Music Award (UK) and the First Prize at the King’s Peak International Music Competition (USA).
His orchestral activities are also very intensive; during his studies in Basel he was an academist with the Theater Orchester Biel-Solothurn and later specialized with several first violas. He plays regularly with various orchestras in Switzerland: the City Light Orchestra and the Basel Symphony Orchestra.
Since January 2025 he has been a full member of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra and since March 2025 he has been a full member of the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra.
Dario Giuliano plays a 42 cm viola made by the French violin maker Frederic Chaudière.
