Felix Koltun

Felix Koltun is a German pianist and conductor with Polish roots. He studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln before graduating with honours in conducting under Professor Rüdiger Bohn at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf. He also studied at the Frédéric Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and has participated in numerous masterclasses and workshops with conductors such as Nicolas Pasquet, Ekhart Wycik, Daniel Inbal, Christian von Gehren and Johannes Schlaefli.
He has worked with numerous renowned orchestras in Germany and abroad, including the Romanian State Philharmonic Dinu Lipatti Satu Mare, Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, Alegra Festival Orchestra Sofia, Düsseldorf Symphoniker and Warsaw Radio Symphony Orchestra. He was principal conductor of the Concerto Langenfeld and the symphonic wind orchestra Brass in Concert. He also gained experience in contemporary music with the Ensemble Musikfabrik Köln as well as in oratorio, opera and musical theatre through engagements at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen and the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus.
He reached the semi-finals of the International Artur Nikisch Competition and was awarded second place in the selection conducting competition for the Ernst Boehe Academy. Continuing to be involved in promoting musical talent and supporting education, he is currently conductor of the Kölner Orchester Gesellschaft and the HarvestehuderSinfonieorchester Hamburg.
