The acclaimed Greek pianist Fil (Triantafyllos) Liotis has been praised by the international press for his “musical poetry,” his “fire in the fingers,” and his “intense, powerful, and utterly captivating” performances.

The young pianist appears regularly in major concert halls, including the Konzerthaus Berlin, Sendesaal Bremen, Wolfgang-Rihm-Forum Karlsruhe, Konzerthaus Detmold, Petit Palau de la Música Catalana Barcelona, the Romanian Athenaeum Bucharest, Filharmonia Podlaska Białystok, the Wiener Saal and Solitär at the University Mozarteum Salzburg, Ehrbar Saal Vienna, the Christos Lambrakis Hall at the Megaron Athens, and the Megaron Thessaloniki. He is also a regular guest at international festivals such as the George Enescu Festival, AMG Festival Basel, Thessaloniki Piano Festival, Weidener Max Reger Tage, Haller Bach Tage, Young Euro Classic Festival, and the Isaac Albéniz Festival.

As a soloist, Fil Liotis has performed with renowned orchestras including the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz, the Philharmonisches Orchester Baden-Baden, the State Orchestras of Thessaloniki and Athens, and the Underground Youth Orchestra. He has collaborated with distinguished conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Justus Frantz, Gerardo Estrada Martinez, David Greilsammer, Frank Dupree, Stefanos Tsialis, and Eleni Papakyriakou.

Fil Liotis gives numerous recitals, chamber music, and song concerts throughout Europe and Asia. His performances are regularly broadcast by international radio and television stations including Medici.tv, DRadioKultur, SWR, TVR, and ERT3.

He is a prizewinner of the 39th International Grand Prix Maria Callas and the 61st International Maria Canals Competition in Barcelona, where he also received the award for the “best interpretation of a work by Albéniz.” Furthermore, he has been honored with the ECHO Klassik Award and the Albéniz Medal. His most recent CD, The Young Beethoven (MDG), was nominated in four categories for the OPUS Klassik Award.

Fil Liotis is also deeply dedicated to contemporary music and has premiered numerous works by internationally renowned composers. As a chamber musician, he collaborates with prominent artists such as Ulf Hoelscher, Martin Ostertag, Renate Greiss-Armin, Yeon Hee Kwak, Karl Leister, Laurent Albrecht Breuninger, Wolfgang Meyer, and the Innovation Duo. He also performs regularly with outstanding young talents such as Stathis Karapanos, Stefan Tarara, Krzysztof Grzybowski, Sarah Romberger, Helen Dabringhaus, the Klee String Quartet, Ioannis Kormpetis, Hanna Asieieva, and Nikolaos Prevezianos. Since 2020, he has been the pianist of the Clara Haskil Trio.

Fil Liotis first studied in Greece at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with Nikolaos Tasopoulos, followed by studies in Germany at the University of Music Detmold with Prof. Alfredo Perl and in Karlsruhe with Prof. Dr. h.c. Kalle Randalu. He holds two Master of Music degrees as well as the soloist diploma with highest distinction. He received further artistic inspiration from internationally renowned musicians such as Sir András Schiff, Christoph Eschenbach, Paul Badura-Skoda, Bernard Ringeissen, Ludger Rémy, Thomas Quasthoff, Axel Bauni, Natalia Troull, and Georgios Thymis.

In addition to his international concert career, Fil Liotis leads his own piano class at the University of Music Detmold, where he serves as lecturer in piano.
