Choir
Enthusiastic and intergenerational
The Klangwerk concert choir stands for choral work with amateur singers at the highest level.
The approximately 100-strong Klangwerk Luzern concert choir (formerly the Lehrerchor) has been directed by Moana N. Labbate since 2009 and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2019. The repertoire includes choral works with orchestra and soloists from all eras, from classical oratorio to popular and world music. Klangwerk is enthusiastically committed to modern and intergenerational choral work. Attractive offers such as voice training courses, weekends and choir weeks abroad characterize the active choir. Collaboration with professional musicians, voice coaches, soloists, orchestras and specialists for introductions to works and lectures rounds off the choir’s projects and also serves to further the singers’ education. With its annual concert at the KKL Lucerne and engagements such as Christmas singing with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and the Luzerner Kantorei, Klangwerk develops two to three concert programs per year. Participation is always related to a specific project. Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from September to May, usually in the Sempach-Station school building. Interested singers (preferably with musical experience and aged 20-60) are always welcome.
