Maria Keller
Debut at Luzerner Sinfonieorchester on November 17, 2025
Maria Keller gained her first orchestral experience during her school years in Queensland, Australia, performing with various youth orchestras and winning prizes as a pianist. After returning to Germany, she studied orchestral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne with Prof. Alexander Rumpf and at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf with Prof. Rüdiger Bohn. Alongside her studies, she worked as an assistant and répétiteur at Oper Köln, Kammeroper Rheinsberg, and Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach.
As a pianist, she has performed with the Bergische Symphoniker and at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie. Her conducting engagements have included the Düsseldorf and Brandenburg Symphony Orchestras, Musikfabrik Köln, the Rheinische Philharmonie, and the Mitteldeutsche Kammerphilharmonie.
From 2022 to 2023, she served as Artistic Director of the Flora Sinfonieorchester Köln. She won first prize at the Athens International Conducting Competition and two special prizes at the Ionel Perlea Conducting Competition, and since 2025 she has been a conducting fellow at the Theater Altenburg Gera Conducting Academy.
