Philipp Lossau is a director and stage designer.
His work focuses on experimental and contemporary music theatre formats.
Since 2020, he has formed the core of the music theatre company errortheater together with composer Alexander Chernyshkov. Performances have taken place at steirischer herbst, Musiktheatertage Wien and UFO at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, among others. He works on productions with the composers Saskia Bladt, Jesse Broekman, Marina Poleukhina, Diana Syrse, Manuel Zwerger, for the Ensemble Modern and the Musikverein Wien.
He develops music theatre formats for and with children, young people and babies. Since 2021 he is director of the series ‘Allez Hop’ at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
Studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Anna Viebrock and Nina von Mechow.
Alumnus of the ‘Akademie Musiktheater heute’ in the directing section.
From 2013 to 2018, he worked closely with Hans Neuenfels in theatre and opera.
