Luzerner Sinfonieorchester as the opera orchestra of the Lucerne Theater
The singers of our ensemble, together with the Luzerner Theater Opernchor and Extrachor as well as the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, present opera highlights on Theaterplatz – free of charge and outdoors. We take you on a musical discovery tour through the new season. Artistic Director Ina Karr will guide you through the evening and introduce you to the fascinating works. Music director Jonathan Bloxham will be on the podium. At the beginning of the season, we welcome you with Mozart’s masterpiece “Idomeneo”. We continue with Johann Strauss’ “Fledermaus” and a revival of “Hänsel und Gretel”. The crowning finale of the season is Giuseppe Verdi’s opera “Luisa Miller”, preceded by lively jazz rhythms from Bernstein’s “Trouble in Tahiti”.
From August 31, 2024 on the Theaterplatz of the Luzerner Theater.
