Conducting Week 2026

Young Conductors on the Podium of the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester

For one week, young conductors work with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester at the Orchesterhaus. Under the guidance of Chief Conductor Michael Sanderling, they gain valuable hands-on experience with a professional orchestra.

The rehearsals are open to the public, offering a direct view into the work at the conductor’s podium. The week concludes with a public concert on Saturday, 26 September 2026.

Open Rehearsals at the Orchesterhaus

The rehearsals of the conducting week are open to the public. Interested visitors, students and music lovers are warmly invited to watch the young conductors at work with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.

Closing Concert

At the end of the conducting week, selected participants conduct the public closing concert. The winner of the Assistant Conductor position with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester will be announced afterwards.
