Aivis Greters

Latvian conductor Aivis Greters serves as Principal Guest Conductor at the Gothenburg Opera. The 2025/26 season brings debuts with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and Malmö Symphony Orchestra and sees him return to the Deutsche Radiophilharmonie and other ensembles. A former Artistic Director of the youth choir Kamēr…, Greters has guest‑conducted the Latvian National Symphony, the Evgeny Svetlanov State Academic Symphony, and various opera companies in Berlin, Rome and Florence. He studied choral conducting in Riga and orchestral conducting with Peter Eötvös and Paavo Järvi and won the 2022 La Maestra competition.
