Alexander Malofeev

Born in Moscow in 2001, pianist Alexander Malofeev came to prominence when he won the 2014 International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians. In 2017 he became the first «Young Yamaha Artist». Today he performs with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Filarmonica della Scala and Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Chailly, Mikhail Pletnev and Yannick Nézet‑Séguin. Malofeev gives recitals at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the Philharmonie de Paris and studies with Pavel Nersessian at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
