Biography

Following an exchange year at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas (USA), Christina Gallati went on to study at the Lucerne School of Music, and later in Basel.

Christina Gallati was born in Aarau. Following an exchange year at the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas (USA), she went on to study at the Lucerne School of Music, and later in Basel.

She gained her Teaching and Concert diplomas in Lucerne with distinction, and took part in masterclasses with Franco Gulli, Giuliano Carmignola and Thomas Zehetmair. Christina Gallati has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester and Basel Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to her post with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Christina Gallati is deputy concertmaster of the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond her full-time work as an orchestral musician, she is a passionate devotee of chamber music in a wide variety of styles, and also of historical performance practice on the baroque violin.
