Marcela Rahal

Brazilian mezzo‑soprano Marcela Rahal studied with Francisco Campos at the University of São Paulo and completed a master’s in opera at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig under Roland Schubert. A former member of two opera studios in São Paulo, she won the 2024 Tenor Viñas Competition and was a grand finalist in the 2022 Neue Stimmen competition. Recent roles include Siebel in Faust, Aristea in L’Orontea, the Baroness in Nino Rota’s Il cappello di paglia di Firenze and Curra in Verdi’s La forza del destino at Teatro alla Scala; future engagements include Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Federica (Luisa Miller) and Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus) at Luzerner Theater.
