Mark Kurmanbayev

Kazakh bass Mark Kurmanbayev, who grew up in Serbia, studied with Elena Pankratova, Dmitry Korchak and Kirill Petrenko. He made his role debut as Narumov in Tchaikovsky’s Pique Dame at the Festspielhaus Baden‑Baden in 2021 and has since sung the part at Dutch National Opera. A member of the Dutch National Opera Studio, Kurmanbayev participates in projects such as the world premiere of George Orwell’s Animal Farm and regularly collaborates with the Verbier and Aix‑en‑Provence festivals.
