Biography

While playing at the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Patrizia Pacozzi also plays regularly with Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, in various chamber music ensembles and with the folk music group Rämschfädra.

Born in Brig, Patrizia Pacozzi began playing the violin at the age of five and went on to study with Professor Tibor Varga at the Music Academy in Sion at the age of nine.

In 1996 she received a scholarship from the International Menuhin Music Academy in Blonay/Gstaad. There she studied with Alberto Lysy (as teacher and director of the Camerata Lysy), gaining diplomas in chamber music and violin teaching. In July 2003 she was awarded a Concert Diploma with distinction from the School of Drama, Music and Dance in Zurich/Winterthur where she studied with Professor György Pauk.

She has won numerous prizes, including first prize “with distinction” at the Swiss Youth Music Competition in Zurich in 1994. Patrizia Pacozzi has been playing with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester since 2004.

She also plays regularly with Ensemble Modern Frankfurt, in various chamber music ensembles and with the folk music group Rämschfädra.
