Biography

Israeli-Hungarian conductor Tal Samuel is fast earning a reputation as promising talent conducting from the opera pit and on concert hall stages around the world.

In recent years, Ms. Samuel was invited to conduct notable orchestras and ensembles in Israel, Europe and the USA and served as a Conducting Fellow to the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Sinfonietta, Colorado Mahler Festival and the Cabrillo Festival.

She also worked as Assistant Conductor at the Bloomington Opera and Ballet Theater in Indiana and as music instructor at the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University. Since 2010, Ms. Samuel has been serving as Music Director of the Meytar Music Festival in Israel which she founded with the goal of bringing classical music to diverse communities across the country.

Her international accomplishments won her prestigious awards and scholarships by the Israeli Ministry of Culture, America-Israel Cultural Foundation, Bruno Walter Foundation, Diana Steyer Fund, Haifa Symphony, Indiana University and others.

Ms. Samuel participated in masterclasses with Bernard Haitink, Michael Tilson Thomas, Peter Eötvös, Marin Alsop, Simone Young and Yoel Levi and holds a Doctorate Degree in Orchestral Conducting and Music Theory from the Jacobs School of Music of Indiana University.
