Vilde Frang

Norwegian violinist Vilde Frang (born 1986 in Oslo) was invited by Mariss Jansons at the age of 12 to debut with the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra. She studied at the Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo, with Kolja Blacher in Hamburg and Ana Chumachenco at the Kronberg Academy. Frang is among the foremost violinists of her generation, performing with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and working with conductors including Kirill Petrenko, Sir Simon Rattle and Daniel Harding. An exclusive Warner Classics artist, she has received awards including the Edison Klassiek Award, Diapason d’Or and two Gramophone Awards.
