The workshop is designed to give young conductors the opportunity to work with a professional orchestra at the highest level and to gain valuable practical experience The course will conclude with a public concert on 20th November 2025, conducted by selected participants. A maximum of five candidates will be admitted as active participants, alongside passive participants who are welcome to observe the course. The age limit for applying is 35 years.

After completion of the Conducting Week, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester intends to offer the position of Assistant Conductor to one of the participants. Please note that only applicants who meet one of the following requirements can be considered:
a) You are studying in Switzerland and hold a valid residence and work permit allowing you to engage in employment in Switzerland.
b) You are a Swiss citizen residing in an EU/EFTA member state.
c) You are a citizen of an EU/EFTA member state residing in one of these countries. In this case, a valid A1 certificate is required in order to work in Switzerland.
The selection will be made by the artistic committee under the direction of Michael Sanderling.
