Winner of the 2021 Neeme Järvi Prize, Swedish conductor Andreas Patrik Hansson currently holds the position of assistant conductor with the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester.
After master and bachelor studies in Norway and the Netherlands, he now lives in Sweden and is establishing himself within the field of 19th-century performance practice, bringing a fresh historically informed approach to the romantic symphonic repertoire.
Andreas’ career kickstarted after winning Opptakt in Norway in 2016. He has since conducted concerts with a range of professional orchestras, including Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Lausanne, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, The Hague Philharmonic, Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Arctic Philharmonic, and the Nordic Chamber Orchestra, among others.
He has also worked in competitions, assistantships, and masterclasses with such orchestras as Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra.
