Care home concerts bring music to people who are unable or barely able to attend concerts in a concert hall.
A small ensemble of musicians from the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester visits the institution and plays a 45-minute opening concert, to which the public may also be invited. In further half-hour follow-up concerts on other days and on all wards, contact is deepened, and all residents can experience the music up close. A simple commentary facilitates access to the music.
The concert dates, number of concerts and price are agreed individually.

Some residents come to these concerts even though they don't usually take part in any activities in the home. One resident listened to the concert in the open lift. She needed this small, protected space but was still able to have a positive musical experience. Due to her advanced dementia, she otherwise never comes out of her room.
