A high-profile concert evening at the KKL Luzern: the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester meets star pianist Alice Sara Ott – in her only Swiss appearance in 2026.
Together with conductor Martin Rajna, they create a concert experience full of energy, virtuosity and symphonic brilliance.
A concert with impact: this benefit concert combines musical excellence with social commitment. In collaboration with CSS, part of the proceeds will go to Caritas Central Switzerland to support families affected by poverty in the region.
The programme spans a wide musical arc, from the Romantic opera stage to symphonic vitality. Carl Maria von Weber’s Overture to Der Freischütz opens the evening with dramatic tension and atmospheric depth – a key work of German Romanticism.
Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 marks a turning point in the genre: lyrical, dialogic and of quiet grandeur. The work was composed around the time the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester was founded. The solo part is performed by Alice Sara Ott, one of the most distinguished pianists of our time.
The concert concludes with AntonÃn Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 – a work full of colour, nature imagery and optimism. Under the baton of Martin Rajna, the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester reveals the full breadth of its stylistic range.
