Biographie

Ronja Macholdt (*1999 in Darmstadt) has served as Principal Flute of the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under Michael Sanderling at the KKL Luzern since April 2022. From 2020 to 2022, she was an academist with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Following her Bachelor’s studies, Ronja Macholdt has been pursuing her Master’s degree at the Berlin University of the Arts with Prof. Christina Fassbender since the winter semester 2024/25.

In addition to scholarships (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, International Music Academy Liechtenstein with Philippe Bernold), she has won multiple international awards, including at the International Grand Prize Virtuoso Competition Rome, the Beethoven Bonnensis Competition and the Dutch International Flute Competition. In March 2024, she received a scholarship from the German Music Competition, accompanied by her admission to the sponsorship programme of the German Music Council.

As principal flute, she has performed with orchestras such as the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, the Munich Chamber Orchestra and the Bern Symphony Orchestra. She has also gained orchestral experience as a member of the Verbier Festival Orchestra, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the National Youth Orchestra of Germany and as a guest at the Karajan Academy.

Her teaching activities took her to Seoul, South Korea, in 2023 and 2024, where she gave masterclasses in flute and woodwind chamber music at the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Academy.
