The entrance to the Orchestra House is entered either from the forecourt or from the parking garage opposite. The spacious staircase leads upstairs to the rehearsal rooms of various sizes.
On the first floor are the individual rehearsal rooms as well as offices and storage. On the second floor are the somewhat larger rehearsal rooms, a meeting room and additional storage rooms. On both floors, the musicians have access to a recreation room with a view of the forecourt. The actual heart of the building beats on the third floor: the large rehearsal hall with a room height of 9.5 meters. This arrangement of the rooms has proven to be very efficient in the course of the planning due to several considerations. From a static point of view, it makes sense to arrange the larger rooms above the smaller ones. From an acoustic point of view, it is best to have the noisiest use arranged at the top. And from an architectural point of view, this arrangement gives the house a spatial dramaturgy that is consistent with the importance and significance of the spaces described. The external expression of the Orchestra House is derived from its internal structure. The floor heights, which increase towards the top, structure the façade cladding and are further emphasized by the widening division of the façade.
