For the third time, the Luzerner Sinfonieorchester gives an open-air concert on Europaplatz. The large-scale event brings symphonic orchestral music to one of Lucerne’s most vibrant places: under the roof of the KKL Luzern, directly by Lake Lucerne and with free admission.
The concert attracts a broad and diverse audience – including many people who rarely attend classical concerts. Its special appeal lies in the combination of great orchestral music, open atmosphere and impressive setting. The orchestra, placed in a pavilion, is amplified in such a way that its symphonic sound can unfold its full effect outdoors.
The 2027 Open Air will once again be conducted by Chief Conductor Michael Sanderling. The programme will be announced at a later date.
