Event Description
Joy is also at the heart of the Christmas symphony concert. John Rutter’s music combines festive warmth with radiant vocal power; Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy” adds the season’s great musical point of reference.
The Luzerner Sinfonieorchester performs together with the Luzerner Mädchenchor and Luzerner Sängerknaben, Konzertchor Klangwerk Luzern and the ChorTon Vokalensemble. For one evening, the KKL Luzern becomes the space of a large Lucerne choral community.
Unlike the family concert at 6 pm, this version also opens with Beethoven’s Fidelio Overture. In doing so, another central idea of the season comes into focus: freedom, humanity and the power of voices united.
