Isa Wiss

Isa Wiss initially trained her voice in classical art song before studying jazz vocals at the Lucerne School of Music. Based in Lucerne, she teaches vocal technique and modern singing, leads workshops, and experiments at the intersection of voice and performance—developing her own distinct palette of vocal soundscapes using extended vocal techniques.

She performs improvised stories and children’s music with her band Frächdächs, plays interactive “crawling concerts” for babies as part of a duo, sets original and selected texts to music, and sings both German pop and American jazz. Beyond her concert work, she brings characters to life in opera and theater productions and thrives on interdisciplinary projects, particularly those combining improvised music and dance.
